SmogShoppe Wedding in Culver City | Netta + Hanna’s California Desert Cocktail Celebration
Netta and Hanna’s wedding at SmogShoppe was equal parts intentional, joyful, and wildly fun. Set in the heart of Culver City, their day blended desert-inspired styling with meaningful Jewish traditions, great food, and nonstop dancing, all anchored by the presence of their rescue dog, Maggie.
As Los Angeles wedding photographers, SmogShoppe is one of those venues we never get tired of. The plants, textures, and light invite weddings that feel relaxed, expressive, and deeply personal, which made it a perfect fit for Netta and Hanna’s California desert cocktail vision.
Why SmogShoppe Was the Perfect Fit
Netta and Hanna were drawn to SmogShoppe for all the same reasons couples keep coming back to it. Living plant walls. Beautiful indoor and outdoor flow. Warm lighting. Repurposed materials. And so many little frame-worthy moments tucked into the space, from the doors and brick textures to pink walls layered with greenery and even the wallpaper in the bathrooms.
Rather than getting ready at a separate prep location, we joined them directly at the venue. With just a few people around, the energy felt calm and focused, letting the day unfold naturally without unnecessary transitions.
A Celebration Rooted in Tradition and Joy
With around 100 guests and no bridal party, the focus stayed exactly where it mattered: on Netta and Hanna, their community, and the rituals that were meaningful to them.
Their ceremony honored Jewish tradition with a chuppah and ketubah, followed by moments that turned the celebration electric. A raw bar, champagne tower, and cake cutting replaced a traditional first dance, setting the tone for a night built around shared experiences rather than formalities.
And once the horah began, the energy never dipped. Chair lifts, packed dance floors, and friends fully giving themselves to the moment made the night feel alive from start to finish.
Maggie, Their Rescue Dog
Maggie was part of the day in all the ways that mattered. As their rescue dog, her presence added another layer of heart to the celebration. SmogShoppe’s layout made it easy for her to be comfortably included, and moments with Maggie naturally became some of the most meaningful and joyful images of the day.
