Gay LA Wedding Photographers : SmogShoppe Wedding | Casual, Joyful, and Unapologetically Themselves

We’re more behind-the-camera than behind-the-keyboard people, so we let AI help us put some words together for this one.

There’s something instantly comforting about a wedding that doesn’t try too hard, where the focus isn’t on tradition or performance, but just being together. That’s exactly what Cliff + Warin’s SmogShoppe wedding was all about: laid back, joyful, and deeply personal.

Set in the heart of Culver City, SmogShoppe offered the perfect backdrop—lush greenery spilling from every wall, warm textures, and a relaxed energy that matched them perfectly.

Why We Love SmogShoppe

SmogShoppe is one of those Los Angeles venues that feels effortlessly cool: part desert garden, part art space, part secret oasis. Cliff + Warin loved the plant walls, the courtyard light, and the sense of privacy that comes with the venue’s tucked-away charm.

They spent the morning together upstairs, getting ready side by side and even getting fresh haircuts from a barber right before the ceremony, a perfect start to the day.

Ceremony Highlights

Their celebration included both a Western ceremony and a Thai water ceremony, where every guest poured water over their hands and offered a blessing. It was calm, emotional, and community-centered, a ritual that felt both intimate and joyful.

They skipped the traditional first dance and grand entrances and instead filled the space with laughter, cocktails, and casual conversations that carried well into the night.

With just 75 guests, no wedding party, and a focus on candid moments, it was exactly the kind of wedding we love to photograph: one that feels like the couple themselves.

Cliff + Warin

Together, they’re the kind of pair that makes everyone around them feel comfortable. Their sense of humor, easy connection, and warmth translated into photos that feel natural and unforced. You won’t find stiff poses here, just real smiles, real moments, and real love.

Their vendors kept things simple but perfect:

  • Coordinator: Trista Bloom, The Love Riot

  • Catering + Bar: Guelaguetza

  • Flowers: Their close friend.

  • Everything else? They did it themselves.

Inclusive Wedding Photography in Los Angeles

As queer, LGBTQ wedding photographers in Los Angeles, this is exactly the kind of day that reminds us why we do what we do: joyful, relaxed celebrations where couples get to show up as their full selves.

We love photographing at SmogShoppe, not just for the plant walls and courtyard light (though, yes, they’re perfect), but because it attracts couples who care more about connection than perfection.

If you’re planning your own SmogShoppe wedding or searching for gay or LGBTQ wedding photographers in Los Angeles, we’d love to document it, exactly as it is.

Redbird DTLA Wedding | Timeless, Stylish, and Fun-Filled Celebration

We’re more behind-the-camera than behind-the-keyboard people, so we let AI help us put some words together for this one.

Downtown Los Angeles has no shortage of beautiful spaces, but Redbird has a certain magic that feels both classic and contemporary. Between its art deco architecture, glowing staircase, and the hum of the city just beyond its walls, it was the perfect setting for Bri + Jess’s timeless, stylish, and joy-filled wedding.

Getting Ready at The Conrad

The day began at The Conrad Hotel in DTLA, where Bri and Jess got ready separately, surrounded by just a few close friends. The atmosphere was calm and full of anticipation, the kind of quiet excitement that builds right before everything begins.

The hotel’s clean lines and warm light made it the perfect spot for portraits before their first look, a beautifully private moment that set the tone for the day.

A Wedding at Redbird Los Angeles

Redbird, located in one of LA’s most iconic architectural spaces, offered everything Bri and Jess envisioned: art deco detailing, rich textures, and a sense of timeless design.

Their favorite photo spots became ours too:

  • The curved staircase, glowing in late afternoon light.

  • The historic elevator, which felt like stepping into another era.

  • The restaurant’s courtyard, filled with conversation, laughter, and the sound of clinking glasses.

With just 54 guests and no bridal party, the celebration felt intimate but never quiet, just the right mix of warmth, laughter, and effortless style.

Bri + Jess

Bri’s and Jess’s dresses complemented each other perfectly, two distinct styles that felt completely in harmony.

Their first dance to “Birds of a Feather” by Billie Eilish was soft, tender, and unhurried, a reflection of their entire day. It was a wedding without pretense or performance, just two people surrounded by love and light.

Inclusive Wedding Photography in Los Angeles

As queer, lesbian wedding photographers based in Los Angeles, documenting love stories like Bri + Jess’s feels especially meaningful. Redbird’s timeless architecture paired with their energy made this day unforgettable, a balance of modern elegance and effortless joy.

We believe in capturing weddings that reflect who you are, not just what the day looked like. Whether it’s a 200-person villa wedding or a 50-person downtown dinner celebration, we’re there to blend in quietly and preserve it all with authenticity and care.

Hummingbird Nest Ranch Wedding

Romantic, Vibrant, and Inviting

We’re more behind-the-camera than behind-the-keyboard people, so we let AI help us put some words together for this one.

Tucked into the mountains just outside of Los Angeles, Hummingbird Nest Ranch is one of those venues that instantly takes your breath away. Mediterranean architecture, sprawling gardens, mountain views, and the sound of fountains echoing through the courtyards, it’s a setting that feels both cinematic and deeply peaceful.

For Jess + John, it was the perfect place for their romantic, vibrant, and inviting fall wedding surrounded by 200 of their favorite people.

A Venue That Feels Like a Dream

Hummingbird Nest Ranch has endless corners for photos, each with its own magic:

  • The mountain views glowing at golden hour.

  • Cascading bougainvillea framing the archways.

  • The iron gates and colorful tiled steps where Jess + John took their first portraits together.

  • The villa courtyard fountain, a favorite gathering spot as the evening light faded.

Every moment here feels timeless, from the grand villa steps to the open lawns behind it. It’s a venue that’s built for celebration, connection, and the kind of joy that fills the air long after the music fades.

Jess + John

The day felt warm from the start—friends and family arriving with hugs, laughter, and the buzz of something special in the air. Jess and John shared an emotional first look before their ceremony, a quiet moment of calm in the middle of the excitement.

Their first dance to “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” by Frankie Valli perfectly summed up their relationship: joyful, classic, and full of love.

Grass Room DTLA Wedding | Colorful, Tropical, and Fun

We’re more behind-the-camera than behind-the-keyboard people, so we let AI help us put some words together for this one.

There’s something about Grass Room in DTLA that just feels alive. Between the soaring skylights, layers of plants, eclectic textures, and that unforgettable whale mural, the venue is one of Los Angeles’ most vibrant places to host a wedding.

For Sarah + Dan, it was the perfect space to bring their vision of a colorful, tropical-lite, and fun wedding to life.

Grass Room isn’t your typical wedding venue, it’s a converted warehouse with walls of greenery, art deco tiling, and unexpected details tucked into every corner. Couples love it because it feels like a mix of urban DTLA grit and greenhouse magic.

The venue itself is already bursting with personality, and it’s a natural fit for couples who want their wedding to feel vibrant, relaxed, and unique to them.

Sarah + Dan described their wedding vibe as tropical-lite—a mix of lush florals by Little Branch, colorful details, and a playful energy that carried through every moment.

With planning by So Smitten Events, music from Second Song, makeup by Kelly Zhang, and catering by Fundamental, the day came together seamlessly.

Their first dance to “That’s How Strong My Love Is” by Otis Redding set the perfect tone—timeless, soulful, and full of heart.

For Jamie + Nick, Valentine was the perfect backdrop for their fun, lighthearted, and romantic wedding day.

Why Couples Love Valentine DTLA

Valentine is filled with character at every turn. The venue blends industrial textures, lush greenery, and stunning architectural details.

Jamie wore a gown from BB Bridal, while Nick kept it sharp and classic in The Black Tux. Together, they set the tone for a celebration that felt modern, stylish, and full of heart.

The reception was as vibrant as it was meaningful, with a guest list of about 150 friends and family ready to hit the dance floor. Between the laughter, the food, and the disco ball glow, the atmosphere was pure joy.

The couple first met in 2017 on the dating app The League, and have been inseparable ever since. They share a love for cooking, exploring new cuisines, and recently adopted a pup named Bean—who quickly became the center of their world.

Millwick Wedding, Arts District

Vivi + Ninh

The amazing coordinator and Millwick site managers rescued a weak hummingbird from inside the venue and nursed it back to life until it was strong enough to fly off on its own. So sweet. There’s a photo of the little guy below. <3

Millwick Wedding | Elegant Tiki Celebration in Los Angeles Arts District

We’re more behind-the-camera than behind-the-keyboard people, so we let AI help us put some words together for this one:

No venue in Los Angeles strike the balance between urban edge and lush escape quite like Millwick in the Arts District. With its tropical greenery, mid-century touches, and modern open space, it’s no wonder it has become one of our favorite wedding venues in Los Angeles.

For Vivi + Ninh, Millwick set the stage for an elegant tiki-inspired celebration—a night that blended playful design, great food, and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.

Millwick is known for its tropical, garden-meets-urban aesthetic. The towering plants, clean architectural lines, and natural light make it an ideal setting for couples.

One of our fav moments, the Marvimon site managers and the wedding coordinator rescued a weak hummingbird that had flown into the venue. They nurtured it carefully until it regained its strength and eventually flew back into the Los Angeles sky. That little story feels symbolic of what Millwick does best—creating a space where beauty, care, and magic happen all at once.

Vivi + Ninh envisioned their wedding as a stylish, modern spin on a tiki party—elevated design, warm hospitality, and a guest list of about 120–130 loved ones. The result was festive yet refined: a space filled with laughter, energy, and an atmosphere that encouraged everyone to truly enjoy the night.

Attire: Vivi wore a gown by Khaite, paired with modern details that matched Millwick’s contemporary backdrop.

Coordinator: Ingrid Yeh

Catering: Hungry Bear

As Los Angeles wedding photographers, we specialize in creating space for couples to feel at ease—whether you’re planning an Arts District rooftop celebration, a garden-inspired greenhouse wedding, or a tropical modern party like this one at Millwick.

Queer Carondelet Wedding, Los Angeles

Kara + Alec

A queer wedding at the Carondelet House in Los Angeles. <3

We’re more behind-the-camera than behind-the-keyboard people, so we let AI help us put some words together for this one:

Carondelet House Wedding | Playful Elegance for a Queer Non-Binary Couple in Los Angeles

There’s something magical about photographing queer weddings in Los Angeles, especially when the venue is as timeless as Carondelet House. Known for its vintage charm, brick walls, and intimate courtyards, Carondelet has become a favorite for couples who want their wedding to feel both elegant and relaxed.

For Kara and Alec, a non-binary couple, Carondelet House was the perfect backdrop for their “playful elegance” wedding style.

As LGBTQ wedding photographers in Los Angeles, we know how important representation is. Carondelet House is already stunning on its own—but when it’s filled with queer joy, vibrant design, and the kind of love that lights up a room? It becomes unforgettable.

A Love Story Rooted in Design, Music, and Art

Kara and Alec first met at a holiday party in 2014, reconnecting a few weeks later on New Year’s Eve. Fast forward to today, they live in Highland Park with their Cavalier pup, Elsie (an Aquarius, naturally). Kara works in interior design, Alec is a software engineer, and together they share a love for concerts, art, and creating spaces filled with beauty and joy.

They also had an engagement session with their dog, Elsie, you can see here, which perfectly captured their playful energy and love.

The Carondelet House: A Venue Made for Queer Love

Carondelet House is one of the most romantic wedding venues in Los Angeles—an early 20th century Italian villa turned urban hideaway. With its mix of exposed brick, hardwood floors, dramatic staircases, and hidden courtyards, it feels historic. Our faovrite part is that the guests who prefer an intimate conversation have their own beautiful corners to hangout in while others enjoy the dancefloor.

Together, these spaces created the perfect canvas for capturing the couple’s love story with vibrancy, joy, and authenticity.

The wedding aesthetic balanced sophistication with playfulness—colorful florals by Blush Flora, chic attire by Saint from Lovely Bride and Sharpe Suiting, and meaningful details like Kataoka jewelry.

With vendors like The Love Riot (coordination), Ashes & Shine, Tres LA Catering, and even tarot readings by Mischel’s Truth Tarot & Coaching, the day felt curated and deeply personal. They even had a reception glitter makeup station. This wasn’t a cookie-cutter wedding—it was a bold, vibrant expression of Kara and Alec’s personalities.

Why Carondelet House is Perfect for Queer Weddings

Carondelet’s vintage charm paired with modern inclusivity makes it a standout venue for LGBTQ couples. It offers:

  • Architectural backdrops that elevate portraits into works of art.

  • Intimate courtyards and atriums perfect for candid, playful moments.

  • A timeless yet flexible atmosphere, ideal for both elegant and vibrant celebrations.

For queer couples, representation matters—and Carondelet feels like a space where your story belongs.

Why Couples Choose Us

As queer, LGBTQ wedding photographers in Los Angeles, we bring more than just cameras—we bring lived experience. We know how to create a safe, celebratory space where you can feel fully yourself in front of the lens.

Republique Wedding | Romantic Dinner Party Vibes in Los Angeles

We’re more behind-the-camera than behind-the-keyboard people, so we let AI help us put some words together for this one:

Some weddings are elegant, some are fun—but this Republique wedding in Los Angeles managed to be both. With its romantic, moody aesthetic and the couple’s focus on food and hospitality, the day felt more like an unforgettable dinner party than a traditional wedding.

As LGBTQ wedding photographers in Los Angeles, we’re passionate about documenting all love stories. We proudly specialize in inclusive, LGBTQ+ weddings across Los Angeles. For us, representation matters—and venues like Republique create the perfect backdrop for celebrating all kinds of love.

From NYC to LA: A Love Story

This couple lives in New York City, where we also photographed their NYC engagement session here. Their wedding brought them to the bride’s hometown in Los Angeles, where they gathered family and friends for a celebration that reflected their personalities perfectly: romantic, moody, warm, and fun.

Getting Ready at The Line Hotel

The day began at The Line Hotel in Koreatown, where the couple got ready and shared the first part of their portraits inside the hotel’s stunning rooftop greenhouse. With its glass walls, lush greenery, and golden LA light, the space created a cinematic start to their day.

Romantic & Moody Wedding at Republique

The ceremony and reception took place at Republique, one of Los Angeles’ most iconic restaurant wedding venues. Known for its stone arches and intricate tile work (almost chapel-like in appearance), Republique is both grand and intimate—a dream backdrop for couples who love moody, romantic architecture.

This couple leaned into the venue’s unique aesthetic, pairing it with lush florals by Little Branch, warm candlelight, and a vibe that was less about tradition and more about connection. They skipped some of the standard formalities, and instead focused on great food, great music, and great company.

Vendors who brought the vision to life:

  • Coordinator: Pop the Champagne

  • Florals: Little Branch

  • Band: O & E

  • Makeup: Colette Bécar

  • Hair: Davide Dang

Wedding Style Details

  • Attire: Alexandra Grecco gown + veil, Christian Dior shoes, custom suit

  • Rings: Custom engagement ring + Brilliant Earth wedding bands

  • Vibe: Romantic, moody, warm, fun, and dinner-party inspired

Why Couples Love Republique for Weddings

Republique isn’t just a restaurant—it’s an experience. The dramatic arches and stonework give the venue the timeless feel of an old-world chapel, while the food (famous across LA) ensures your guests will never forget the night.

It’s ideal for couples looking for:

  • A romantic, moody wedding aesthetic

  • Architectural photo backdrops unlike any other in LA

  • A venue where food and hospitality shine
