Devorah + Adam
Devorah and Adam’s engagement session was fun, personal, and unapologetically them. We spent the afternoon wandering around Silver Lake, starting somewhere unexpected and ending with one of the best views in Los Angeles. As Los Angeles wedding photographers, engagement sessions like this are some of our favorites, relaxed, meaningful, and rooted in real life.
We kicked things off at a Silver Lake 7-Eleven with Slurpees in hand, a nod to their wedding date: 7/11. It was playful, colorful, and very fitting for a couple that doesn’t take themselves too seriously. Starting an engagement session somewhere ordinary but personal is often where the best candids happen, especially when it’s tied to a story that actually matters to the couple.
From there, we headed back to their home nearby to photograph them with their rescue beagle. Those at-home moments added a softer, more intimate layer to the session. Engagement photos don’t need to be all sweeping views to feel meaningful. Sometimes the most important images happen in the places you already love, with the beings you share your daily life with.
We wrapped the session on a hilltop overlooking Downtown Los Angeles, just as the light started to shift. The contrast between the city skyline and the quiet moment they shared together felt like the perfect ending. These are the kinds of locations we love for engagement sessions in LA, simple, beautiful, and connected to the city without feeling overdone.
Devorah and Adam wanted photos that felt natural and fun, not staged or overly polished. By building the session around places that mattered to them, the photos reflect who they actually are right now, right before stepping into the next chapter. That’s always our goal as LA County wedding photographers, especially for couples planning city weddings.
We’re already looking forward to photographing their Millwick DTLA wedding in July. Engagement sessions like this create a visual bridge between everyday life and the wedding day, and they make the whole experience feel more connected and less performative.
We photograph engagement sessions throughout Silver Lake, Downtown LA, and across Los Angeles County. If you’re looking for a Los Angeles wedding photographer, LA County wedding photographer, or LGBTQ+ friendly engagement photography in Los Angeles, we’d love to help you plan something that actually feels like you.
Cliff + Warin
Sneak Peeks from this gay SmogShoppe wedding. <3
There’s something grounding about a wedding that doesn’t try to perform. No pressure to follow tradition, no need to impress, just people showing up and being present. That’s exactly what Cliff and Warin’s wedding at SmogShoppe felt like: relaxed, joyful, and deeply personal.
Set in the heart of Culver City, SmogShoppe offered the perfect backdrop. Lush greenery climbing every wall, warm textures throughout the space, and an atmosphere that feels private and inviting despite being right in Los Angeles. As gay LA wedding photographers, this is the kind of venue and energy we’re always excited to document.
SmogShoppe is one of those Los Angeles venues that feels effortlessly cool. Part urban garden, part art space, part hidden oasis. Cliff and Warin were drawn to the plant walls, the natural courtyard light, and the sense of calm the space creates.
They spent the morning getting ready together upstairs, side by side, easing into the day at their own pace. Right before the ceremony, a barber came through to give them fresh haircuts, one of those small, thoughtful moments that perfectly reflected their approach to the day.
Their celebration included both a Western ceremony and a Thai water ceremony, where each guest poured water over their hands and offered a blessing. It was emotional, community-centered, and quietly powerful. The kind of ritual that makes everyone in the room feel connected.
They skipped a traditional first dance and grand entrances entirely. Instead, the evening unfolded naturally with cocktails, laughter, and easy conversations that carried on well into the night.
With just 75 guests, no wedding party, and a clear focus on candid moments, it was exactly the type of wedding we love to photograph, one that feels like a true reflection of the couple.
Cliff and Warin have a way of making everyone around them feel comfortable. Their humor, warmth, and ease with each other translated into photos that feel natural and unforced. No stiff posing, no over-directing. Just real smiles, real connection, and real joy.

Jess + Bri
A lesbian wedding at Redbird. <3
Downtown Los Angeles has no shortage of beautiful wedding venues, but Redbird offers a kind of magic that feels both classic and contemporary. For Bri and Jess, it was the perfect backdrop for a wedding that felt intentional, stylish, and deeply joyful. As Los Angeles wedding photographers who love documenting LGBTQ+ celebrations, this Redbird DTLA wedding was one we won’t forget.
Between the art deco architecture, the iconic staircase, and the quiet buzz of the city just outside, Redbird set the tone for a day that felt elevated without ever feeling stiff.
The day began at the Conrad Los Angeles, where Bri and Jess got ready separately, each surrounded by a small group of close friends. The atmosphere was calm and full of anticipation, the kind of quiet excitement that builds before everything begins.
The hotel’s clean lines and warm light created the perfect setting for portraits before their first look, a private, grounding moment that set the tone for the rest of the day.
Located in one of LA’s most iconic architectural spaces, Redbird offered everything Bri and Jess were drawn to: art deco details, rich textures, and a timeless sense of place.
Some of our favorite photo spots included:
The curved staircase, glowing in late afternoon light
The historic elevator, which felt like stepping into another era
The courtyard, filled with conversation, laughter, and clinking glasses
With just 54 guests and no bridal party, the celebration felt intimate but never quiet, a perfect balance of warmth, energy, and effortless style.
Bri and Jess’s dresses complemented each other beautifully. Two distinct styles that felt completely in harmony, just like them.
Their first dance to Birds of a Feather by Billie Eilish was soft, unhurried, and deeply present. The entire day felt that way. No performance, no pressure. Just two people, surrounded by love, light, and the people who matter most.
As queer, lesbian wedding photographers based in Los Angeles, documenting weddings like Bri and Jess’s feels especially meaningful. Their Redbird wedding was a reminder that timeless design and joyful energy can exist side by side, and that the most powerful images often come from moments that are simply allowed to unfold.
We focus on capturing weddings as they actually feel, whether that’s a 200-person villa celebration or an intimate downtown dinner party. Our goal is always the same: to blend in quietly and document the day with care, honesty, and heart.
If you’re planning a Redbird wedding in DTLA or searching for LGBTQ or lesbian wedding photographers in Los Angeles, we’d love to connect and hear about what you’re dreaming up.
An autumn wedding at Hummingbird Nest Ranch. <3
Just outside of Los Angeles, tucked into the mountains, Hummingbird Nest Ranch feels like stepping into another world. With its Mediterranean architecture, sprawling gardens, mountain views, and fountains echoing through the courtyards, it’s a venue that feels cinematic and peaceful all at once. For Jess and John, it was the perfect setting for a romantic, vibrant, and inviting fall wedding surrounded by nearly 200 of their favorite people.
As Los Angeles wedding photographers, we love venues that offer both beauty and breathing room, places where a wedding can feel expansive while still deeply personal. This day was exactly that.
Hummingbird Nest Ranch offers endless spaces for photographs, each with its own distinct energy. Throughout the day, we moved through:
Mountain views glowing during golden hour
Cascading bougainvillea framing archways and walkways
Iron gates and colorful tiled steps where Jess and John shared their first portraits together
The villa courtyard fountain, which naturally became a gathering point as the evening settled in
From the grand villa steps to the open lawns beyond, every corner of the venue is designed for connection and celebration. It’s the kind of place where moments unfold naturally and linger long after the music ends.
From the moment guests began arriving, the day felt warm and full. Friends and family greeting each other with hugs, laughter floating through the gardens, and that unmistakable feeling that something special was about to happen.
Jess and John shared an emotional first look before the ceremony, a quiet pause together in the middle of a full, joyful day. Their first dance to Can’t Take My Eyes Off You by Frankie Valli captured the heart of their relationship perfectly, classic, joyful, and completely sincere.
With a guest count of around 200, the celebration felt lively and expansive, yet still intimate in all the right ways. Hummingbird Nest Ranch is especially well-suited for weddings like this, where guests can move, mingle, and experience the day across multiple spaces without anything feeling rushed or crowded.
Our approach focused on candid moments, movement, and the natural rhythm of the day, letting the environment and the people shape the story rather than forcing anything into place.

A wedding at Grass Room DTLA. <3
There’s something about Grass Room that instantly feels alive. Between the soaring skylights, layers of plants, eclectic textures, and the iconic whale mural, it’s one of the most vibrant wedding venues in Downtown Los Angeles. For Sarah and Dan, it was the perfect setting for a wedding that felt colorful, tropical-lite, and full of joy.
As Los Angeles wedding photographers, we’re always drawn to spaces that already have personality built in, venues that invite couples to loosen up and lean into what feels true to them. Grass Room does exactly that.
Grass Room isn’t a traditional wedding venue. It’s a converted warehouse layered with greenery, art-deco tile, bold textures, and unexpected details tucked into every corner. The balance of urban DTLA grit and greenhouse-like warmth makes it a favorite for couples who want something relaxed, creative, and visually rich.
The space feels dynamic without being overwhelming, which makes it ideal for candid moments, movement, and real connection throughout the day.
Sarah and Dan described their wedding vibe as tropical-lite, lush without feeling overdone, colorful but still grounded. Florals by Little Branch added texture and warmth, while playful design choices carried that energy through every part of the celebration.
With planning by So Smitten Events, music from Second Song, makeup by Kelly Zhang Studio, and catering by Fundamental, the day flowed effortlessly from start to finish.
Sarah and Dan’s connection set the tone for the entire day. Easy, warm, and full of energy, they created a space where guests felt comfortable being fully present. Their first dance to That’s How Strong My Love Is by Otis Redding was timeless and soulful, one of those moments that quietly grounds the room before the party continues.
Rather than focusing on rigid traditions, the day unfolded naturally, filled with laughter, color, and moments that felt genuinely lived-in.
Grass Room is ideal for couples who want their wedding to feel vibrant and unforced. The light shifts beautifully throughout the day, the textures add depth without distraction, and the layout encourages guests to mingle and move.
Our focus throughout the day was on capturing candid interactions, joy in motion, and the personality of both the couple and the space itself.
As queer, LGBTQ wedding photographers based in Los Angeles, we love photographing weddings at venues like Grass Room, places that celebrate individuality, creativity, and connection. These are the weddings that feel the most honest, the most fun, and the most memorable.
If you’re planning a Grass Room DTLA wedding or searching for a Los Angeles wedding photographer who values candid moments, bold color, and inclusive storytelling, we’d love to connect and hear what you’re planning.

A little forest engagement session for Nimesh + Alex. <3
We’re more behind-the-camera than behind-the-keyboard people, so we let AI help us put some words together for this one.
For Alex + Nimesh’s engagement session, we traded downtown streets and busy venues for the quiet beauty of the Los Angeles mountains. Surrounded by tall trees, soft light, and fresh mountain air, their session felt like a little escape from the city, just the two of them, soaking it all in.
We love doing engagement sessions because they’re more than just pretty photos. They’re a chance for couples to get comfortable with us, our cameras, and the way we work. By the time the wedding day comes around, we’ve already built that trust together, so you can focus on being present while we quietly blend into the background and capture it all.

The amazing coordinator and Millwick site managers rescued a weak hummingbird from inside the venue and nursed it back to life until it was strong enough to fly off on its own. So sweet. There’s a photo of the little guy below. <3
We’re more behind-the-camera than behind-the-keyboard people, so we let AI help us put some words together for this one:
No venue in Los Angeles strike the balance between urban edge and lush escape quite like Millwick in the Arts District. With its tropical greenery, mid-century touches, and modern open space, it’s no wonder it has become one of our favorite wedding venues in Los Angeles.
For Vivi + Ninh, Millwick set the stage for an elegant tiki-inspired celebration—a night that blended playful design, great food, and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.
Millwick is known for its tropical, garden-meets-urban aesthetic. The towering plants, clean architectural lines, and natural light make it an ideal setting for couples.
One of our fav moments, the Marvimon site managers and the wedding coordinator rescued a weak hummingbird that had flown into the venue. They nurtured it carefully until it regained its strength and eventually flew back into the Los Angeles sky. That little story feels symbolic of what Millwick does best—creating a space where beauty, care, and magic happen all at once.
Vivi + Ninh envisioned their wedding as a stylish, modern spin on a tiki party—elevated design, warm hospitality, and a guest list of about 120–130 loved ones. The result was festive yet refined: a space filled with laughter, energy, and an atmosphere that encouraged everyone to truly enjoy the night.
Attire: Vivi wore a gown by Khaite, paired with modern details that matched Millwick’s contemporary backdrop.

Some weddings are elegant, some are fun—but this Republique wedding in Los Angeles managed to be both. With its romantic, moody aesthetic and the couple’s focus on food and hospitality, the day felt more like an unforgettable dinner party than a traditional wedding.
As LGBTQ wedding photographers in Los Angeles, we’re passionate about documenting all love stories. We proudly specialize in inclusive, LGBTQ+ weddings across Los Angeles. For us, representation matters—and venues like Republique create the perfect backdrop for celebrating all kinds of love.
This couple lives in New York City, where we also photographed their NYC engagement session here. Their wedding brought them to the bride’s hometown in Los Angeles, where they gathered family and friends for a celebration that reflected their personalities perfectly: romantic, moody, warm, and fun.
The day began at The Line Hotel in Koreatown, where the couple got ready and shared the first part of their portraits inside the hotel’s stunning rooftop greenhouse. With its glass walls, lush greenery, and golden LA light, the space created a cinematic start to their day.
The ceremony and reception took place at Republique, one of Los Angeles’ most iconic restaurant wedding venues. Known for its stone arches and intricate tile work (almost chapel-like in appearance), Republique is both grand and intimate—a dream backdrop for couples who love moody, romantic architecture.
This couple leaned into the venue’s unique aesthetic, pairing it with lush florals by Little Branch, warm candlelight, and a vibe that was less about tradition and more about connection. They skipped some of the standard formalities, and instead focused on great food, great music, and great company.

Republique isn’t just a restaurant—it’s an experience. The dramatic arches and stonework give the venue the timeless feel of an old-world chapel, while the food (famous across LA) ensures your guests will never forget the night.
It’s ideal for couples looking for:
A romantic, moody wedding aesthetic
Architectural photo backdrops unlike any other in LA
A venue where food and hospitality shine
We specialize in queer and LGBTQ weddings across Los Angeles and beyond. Our work is rooted in inclusivity, representation, and celebration of all love. Whether your wedding is at Republique, The Line Hotel, or another iconic LA venue, we approach every story with artistry and authenticity.
