Casual Silver Lake Engagement

Devorah + Adam

Playful Silver Lake Engagement Session in Los Angeles | Devorah + Adam

Devorah and Adam’s engagement session was fun, personal, and unapologetically them. We spent the afternoon wandering around Silver Lake, starting somewhere unexpected and ending with one of the best views in Los Angeles. As Los Angeles wedding photographers, engagement sessions like this are some of our favorites, relaxed, meaningful, and rooted in real life.

Slurpees at 7-Eleven for a July 11 Wedding Date

We kicked things off at a Silver Lake 7-Eleven with Slurpees in hand, a nod to their wedding date: 7/11. It was playful, colorful, and very fitting for a couple that doesn’t take themselves too seriously. Starting an engagement session somewhere ordinary but personal is often where the best candids happen, especially when it’s tied to a story that actually matters to the couple.

At Home with Their Rescue Beagle

From there, we headed back to their home nearby to photograph them with their rescue beagle. Those at-home moments added a softer, more intimate layer to the session. Engagement photos don’t need to be all sweeping views to feel meaningful. Sometimes the most important images happen in the places you already love, with the beings you share your daily life with.

Ending the Evening with a DTLA View

We wrapped the session on a hilltop overlooking Downtown Los Angeles, just as the light started to shift. The contrast between the city skyline and the quiet moment they shared together felt like the perfect ending. These are the kinds of locations we love for engagement sessions in LA, simple, beautiful, and connected to the city without feeling overdone.

Why Engagement Sessions Like This Work

Devorah and Adam wanted photos that felt natural and fun, not staged or overly polished. By building the session around places that mattered to them, the photos reflect who they actually are right now, right before stepping into the next chapter. That’s always our goal as LA County wedding photographers, especially for couples planning city weddings.

Looking Ahead to Their Downtown LA Wedding

We’re already looking forward to photographing their Millwick DTLA wedding in July. Engagement sessions like this create a visual bridge between everyday life and the wedding day, and they make the whole experience feel more connected and less performative.

Planning an Engagement Session in Los Angeles?

We photograph engagement sessions throughout Silver Lake, Downtown LA, and across Los Angeles County. If you’re looking for a Los Angeles wedding photographer, LA County wedding photographer, or LGBTQ+ friendly engagement photography in Los Angeles, we’d love to help you plan something that actually feels like you.

Non-Binary Elopement at the Santa Barbara Courthouse

Non-Binary Elopement at the Santa Barbara Courthouse | Bryan + Skye

Bryan and Skye’s wedding day was centered on connection, intention, and doing things their own way. Their non-binary elopement began at the Santa Barbara Courthouse, followed by a laid-back celebration with friends and family at Brass Bear Brewing Uptown. It was meaningful, joyful, and grounded in the people they love most, exactly the kind of day we’re honored to document as Los Angeles wedding photographers serving couples across Southern California.

From Karaoke in Koreatown to “I Do”

Bryan and Skye met on an app, but their first date sealed the deal: karaoke in Koreatown. That mix of playfulness and sincerity carried all the way through their wedding day. They’re both big readers, comedy lovers, and board game enthusiasts, with Bryan balancing a Kindle habit alongside six full bookshelves. Their cats, Maren (named after Maren Morris) and Calcifer (a nod to Howl’s Moving Castle), are very much part of their shared world too.

A Courthouse Ceremony with Personal Meaning

Their ceremony took place at the iconic Santa Barbara Courthouse, a favorite spot for elopements thanks to its architecture, natural light, and intimate feel. They wore matching, beautifully tailored outfits made in the Philippines, adding another personal layer to the day. The courthouse setting felt calm and grounding.

Celebrating at Brass Bear Brewing Uptown

After the ceremony, everyone headed to Brass Bear Brewing Uptown to celebrate. Friends and family laughing, talking, reconnecting, and just enjoying being together.

Our Approach to Non-Binary and LGBTQ+ Weddings

As queer wedding photographers in LA County, we photograph weddings with the understanding that no two love stories look the same. Bryan and Skye’s day was a reminder that weddings do not need to follow a template to be meaningful. Our goal is always to create space where couples feel seen, accepted, and free to show up exactly as they are, especially for non-binary and LGBTQ+ couples navigating spaces that haven’t always been built with them in mind.

Planning a Courthouse or Elopement-Style Wedding?

We photograph elopements, courthouse weddings, and full wedding days throughout Southern California. If you’re looking for gay LA wedding photographers, LGBTQ+ wedding photography in Los Angeles, or a Los Angeles wedding photographer who values authenticity over trends, we’d love to connect.

LA Forest Engagement

A little forest engagement session for Nimesh + Alex. <3

Los Angeles Forest Engagement Session | Alex + Nimesh

We’re more behind-the-camera than behind-the-keyboard people, so we let AI help us put some words together for this one.

For Alex + Nimesh’s engagement session, we traded downtown streets and busy venues for the quiet beauty of the Los Angeles mountains. Surrounded by tall trees, soft light, and fresh mountain air, their session felt like a little escape from the city, just the two of them, soaking it all in.

We love doing engagement sessions because they’re more than just pretty photos. They’re a chance for couples to get comfortable with us, our cameras, and the way we work. By the time the wedding day comes around, we’ve already built that trust together, so you can focus on being present while we quietly blend into the background and capture it all.

Planning your own Los Angeles engagement session, in the mountains, the city, or anywhere in between? Looking for inclusive LGBTQ wedding photographers who will celebrate your story? We’d love to tell your story, from engagement to wedding day.

Valentine DTLA Wedding

Jamie + Nick

We loved being the photographers for this wedding at the Valentine DTLA. <3

We’re more behind-the-camera than behind-the-keyboard people, so we let AI help us put some words together for this one.

Valentine DTLA Wedding | Fun, Lighthearted, Romantic Celebration

Located in the heart of the Arts District, Valentine DTLA is one of Los Angeles’ most unique wedding venues. With its natural greenery, dramatic architecture, and mix of historic and modern design, Valentine creates a space that feels both expansive and intimate at the same time.

For Jamie + Nick, Valentine was the perfect backdrop for their fun, lighthearted, and romantic wedding day.

Why Couples Love Valentine DTLA

Valentine is filled with character at every turn. The venue blends industrial textures, lush greenery, and stunning architectural details.

Jamie wore a gown from BB Bridal, while Nick kept it sharp and classic in The Black Tux. Together, they set the tone for a celebration that felt modern, stylish, and full of heart.

  • Florals: Little Branch

  • Coordinator: Emily Lynn

  • Music: Second Song

  • Catering: Woah Nelly

  • First Dance Song: “Look at Where We Are” by Hot Chip

The reception was as vibrant as it was meaningful, with a guest list of about 150 friends and family ready to hit the dance floor. Between the laughter, the food, and the disco ball glow, the atmosphere was pure joy.

The couple first met in 2017 on the dating app The League, and have been inseparable ever since. They share a love for cooking, exploring new cuisines, and recently adopted a pup named Bean—who quickly became the center of their world.

Their photos reflect everything they value most: candid moments, timeless portraits, and a celebration of love surrounded by the people they hold closest.

As queer, lesbian wedding photographers based in Los Angeles, we’re proud to document weddings of all kinds—whether it’s queer love stories or simply couples who value authenticity and joy.

Valentine DTLA has become one of our favorite venues not just for its design and architecture, but for the way it lets love take center stage. From candid laughter to timeless portraits, it’s a space that feels endlessly inspiring.

Planning your Valentine DTLA wedding or searching for inclusive Los Angeles wedding photographers? We’d love to be part.

Queer Carondelet Wedding, Los Angeles

Kara + Alec

A queer wedding at the Carondelet House in Los Angeles. <3

We’re more behind-the-camera than behind-the-keyboard people, so we let AI help us put some words together for this one:

Carondelet House Wedding | Playful Elegance for a Queer Non-Binary Couple in Los Angeles

There’s something magical about photographing queer weddings in Los Angeles, especially when the venue is as timeless as Carondelet House. Known for its vintage charm, brick walls, and intimate courtyards, Carondelet has become a favorite for couples who want their wedding to feel both elegant and relaxed.

For Kara and Alec, a non-binary couple, Carondelet House was the perfect backdrop for their “playful elegance” wedding style.

As LGBTQ wedding photographers in Los Angeles, we know how important representation is. Carondelet House is already stunning on its own—but when it’s filled with queer joy, vibrant design, and the kind of love that lights up a room? It becomes unforgettable.

A Love Story Rooted in Design, Music, and Art

Kara and Alec first met at a holiday party in 2014, reconnecting a few weeks later on New Year’s Eve. Fast forward to today, they live in Highland Park with their Cavalier pup, Elsie (an Aquarius, naturally). Kara works in interior design, Alec is a software engineer, and together they share a love for concerts, art, and creating spaces filled with beauty and joy.

They also had an engagement session with their dog, Elsie, you can see here, which perfectly captured their playful energy and love.

The Carondelet House: A Venue Made for Queer Love

Carondelet House is one of the most romantic wedding venues in Los Angeles—an early 20th century Italian villa turned urban hideaway. With its mix of exposed brick, hardwood floors, dramatic staircases, and hidden courtyards, it feels historic. Our faovrite part is that the guests who prefer an intimate conversation have their own beautiful corners to hangout in while others enjoy the dancefloor.

Together, these spaces created the perfect canvas for capturing the couple’s love story with vibrancy, joy, and authenticity.

The wedding aesthetic balanced sophistication with playfulness—colorful florals by Blush Flora, chic attire by Saint from Lovely Bride and Sharpe Suiting, and meaningful details like Kataoka jewelry.

With vendors like The Love Riot (coordination), Ashes & Shine, Tres LA Catering, and even tarot readings by Mischel’s Truth Tarot & Coaching, the day felt curated and deeply personal. They even had a reception glitter makeup station. This wasn’t a cookie-cutter wedding—it was a bold, vibrant expression of Kara and Alec’s personalities.

Why Carondelet House is Perfect for Queer Weddings

Carondelet’s vintage charm paired with modern inclusivity makes it a standout venue for LGBTQ couples. It offers:

  • Architectural backdrops that elevate portraits into works of art.

  • Intimate courtyards and atriums perfect for candid, playful moments.

  • A timeless yet flexible atmosphere, ideal for both elegant and vibrant celebrations.

For queer couples, representation matters—and Carondelet feels like a space where your story belongs.

Why Couples Choose Us

As queer, LGBTQ wedding photographers in Los Angeles, we bring more than just cameras—we bring lived experience. We know how to create a safe, celebratory space where you can feel fully yourself in front of the lens.

If you’re searching for: Carondelet House wedding photographer, Queer wedding photographer Los Angeles, Inclusive non-binary wedding photography in LA, or just some candid, playful wedding photos, we’d love to connect.

We’d be honored to document your story.

Republique Wedding | Romantic Dinner Party Vibes in Los Angeles

We’re more behind-the-camera than behind-the-keyboard people, so we let AI help us put some words together for this one:

Some weddings are elegant, some are fun—but this Republique wedding in Los Angeles managed to be both. With its romantic, moody aesthetic and the couple’s focus on food and hospitality, the day felt more like an unforgettable dinner party than a traditional wedding.

As LGBTQ wedding photographers in Los Angeles, we’re passionate about documenting all love stories. We proudly specialize in inclusive, LGBTQ+ weddings across Los Angeles. For us, representation matters—and venues like Republique create the perfect backdrop for celebrating all kinds of love.

From NYC to LA: A Love Story

This couple lives in New York City, where we also photographed their NYC engagement session here. Their wedding brought them to the bride’s hometown in Los Angeles, where they gathered family and friends for a celebration that reflected their personalities perfectly: romantic, moody, warm, and fun.

Getting Ready at The Line Hotel

The day began at The Line Hotel in Koreatown, where the couple got ready and shared the first part of their portraits inside the hotel’s stunning rooftop greenhouse. With its glass walls, lush greenery, and golden LA light, the space created a cinematic start to their day.

Romantic & Moody Wedding at Republique

The ceremony and reception took place at Republique, one of Los Angeles’ most iconic restaurant wedding venues. Known for its stone arches and intricate tile work (almost chapel-like in appearance), Republique is both grand and intimate—a dream backdrop for couples who love moody, romantic architecture.

This couple leaned into the venue’s unique aesthetic, pairing it with lush florals by Little Branch, warm candlelight, and a vibe that was less about tradition and more about connection. They skipped some of the standard formalities, and instead focused on great food, great music, and great company.

Vendors who brought the vision to life:

  • Coordinator: Pop the Champagne

  • Florals: Little Branch

  • Band: O & E

  • Makeup: Colette Bécar

  • Hair: Davide Dang

Wedding Style Details

  • Attire: Alexandra Grecco gown + veil, Christian Dior shoes, custom suit

  • Rings: Custom engagement ring + Brilliant Earth wedding bands

  • Vibe: Romantic, moody, warm, fun, and dinner-party inspired

Why Couples Love Republique for Weddings

Republique isn’t just a restaurant—it’s an experience. The dramatic arches and stonework give the venue the timeless feel of an old-world chapel, while the food (famous across LA) ensures your guests will never forget the night.

It’s ideal for couples looking for:

  • A romantic, moody wedding aesthetic

  • Architectural photo backdrops unlike any other in LA

  • A venue where food and hospitality shine
