Laid-Back Wedding at The Fig House in Los Angeles | Jose + Cait
Jose and Cait’s wedding at The Fig House was relaxed, colorful, and deeply personal. Set inside one of Los Angeles’ most character-filled venues, their day blended architectural charm, autumn warmth, and a celebration that felt effortless rather than overproduced.
As Los Angeles wedding photographers, The Fig House is a venue we love returning to. Its bold color, strong design, and intimate scale make it ideal for couples who want their wedding to feel fun, expressive, and genuinely welcoming.
Why The Fig House Is Such a Standout LA Venue
The Fig House sits right at the intersection of modern and retro. Clean architectural lines meet saturated color, greenery, and warmth, creating a space that feels intentional without feeling formal.
It’s a venue that works especially well for couples who value:
Design and architecture
Great food and cocktails
A relaxed, social atmosphere
A space that feels distinctly Los Angeles
The indoor-outdoor flow allows the day to move naturally, keeping guests connected and the energy consistent from ceremony through the reception.
Jose + Cait
Jose and Cait met on Match.com during the pandemic, a time when connection felt especially meaningful. Their first date at a coffee shop turned into hours of conversation, setting the tone for a relationship built on curiosity, humor, and ease.
Jose, born and raised in Puerto Rico, brings an architect’s eye for structure and detail. Cait, a writer, brings thoughtfulness and warmth. Together, they balance creativity with calm, which shaped how the entire day unfolded.
A Wedding That Didn’t Try Too Hard
Their wedding was intentionally laid-back. From getting ready through the ceremony and into the night, the focus stayed on being present rather than perfect.
They wanted photos that captured:
Candid, photojournalistic moments
Real laughter and connection
A few artsy, frame-worthy images
The joyful awkwardness that comes with being human
That approach made the day feel honest and unforced, with moments unfolding naturally rather than being staged.
Photographing Weddings at The Fig House
The Fig House photographs beautifully because it doesn’t need much added to it. The color, texture, and layout do the work, allowing couples and guests to simply exist within the space.
Our approach here focused on:
Letting the architecture frame moments
Leaning into movement and interaction
Capturing both big energy and quiet in-between moments
Preserving the warmth of an autumn celebration
The result is imagery that feels lived-in, expressive, and true to the experience of being there.
Inclusive Wedding Photography in Los Angeles
We’re drawn to weddings that feel like the people at the center of them, not a checklist of traditions. Jose and Cait’s Fig House wedding was exactly that, relaxed, thoughtful, and full of genuine connection.
If you’re planning a wedding at The Fig House or searching for a Los Angeles wedding photographer who values candid storytelling, design-forward spaces, and celebrations that don’t take themselves too seriously, we’d love to be back here photographing your day.
We’re always grateful to document love stories that feel this real.
