Couple Photo Session

Optional Tips for Your Session

  1. Send us 2 inspiration photos (not a Pinterest board). Tell us what you love about them, the lighting, location, and/or interaction. It'll help us understand your vision while creating photos that still feel like you.

  2. Treat it like a date. If you can, take the day off. Spend the day together, enjoy a slow morning, and ease into the session feeling relaxed. Plan a dinner afterwards and celebrate! You'll probably realize it was actually kinda fun.

  3. Hair & makeup? If you're planning a wedding trial, this is a great opportunity to see how it photographs. Makeup typically looks more natural in photos than it does in person. Also, don't stress about breakouts, acne scarring, or thinning hair; we can subtly touch those things up during editing if you’d like.

  4. Wear something you feel great in. You'll be moving around a lot and photographed from every angle, so choose outfits that are comfortable and make you feel confident. Maybe bring one "safe" outfit and one that's a little more fun. Some of our favorite looks are when couples wear an outfit they considered for the wedding but decided against. Engagement sessions are the perfect excuse to wear it! If you're between two looks, bring both. You can never be too dressed up or have too much personality for engagement photos. Just let us know beforehand so we can plan enough time for an outfit change.

  5. Pack light. We'll happily hold a small bag for your phones, wallets, keys, sunglasses, lipstick, mints, and anything else you don't want in your pockets.

  6. Don't overthink it. It might feel a little awkward for the first 10 minutes, that's completely normal. Then you'll forget the camera is even there and just be hanging out together. You don't need to know how to pose, we'll guide you to get a range of planned photos while leaving plenty of space for the natural moments that often become the favorites. Most couples are surprised by how many photos they end up loving. You'll receive over 100 edited images, and even more importantly, we'll all get to know each other before the wedding day.
